Artist Rupprecht Geiger paints puppets for a good cause.

The internationally recognized painter Rupprecht Geiger has designed several puppets, or “Wichtel” in German. In January of 2006, his puppets were displayed and sold at the Gallery of Edith Wahlandt in Stuttgart, Germany in an exhibition entitled “The Beauty of Colour, Prinmaking from five decades and selected pictures.” Proceeds from Geiger’s exibit went to Worldwide Surpr!se.

“What fascinated me about this undertaking is that children in Africa, America, Asia, and Europe are encouraged to be creative,” said the 98-year-old Artist. In his work, Geiger dedicates himself to the beauty of light and colour. He creates spatial pictures, in which colour as light, light receiver, and light medium plays a significant role. “Colour is the motif,” said the artist, who combines his colours with the basic shapes of rectangles, circles, and ovals. Geiger used these shapes and different shades of red for his puppets, which have already all been sold. For more information, please contact us.

Rupprecht Geiger created his puppets for the exhibition during the fall of 2005. The individually designed puppets can be seen at right.
